Bowing generally occurs when the moulding is too narrow for the size of frame. If the customer really wants a narrow frame, choosing one with a deeper rebate will help. We always recommend fitting hangers on both sides of the frame - we have a selection of hangers specially designed for narrow frames e.g. Narrow Framer Hanger 10577.
You can also support a frame made from narrow moulding by building a sub frame from our French Cleat Style Split Batten - see 10472.
Another option is to add L Plate Corner Strengtheners e.g. 4563.
To add more rigidity use FrameStrap 9055A/B to brace the frame - this works with wood and aluminium frames.
For aluminium frames with at least one side over 1000mm always use Aluminium Frame Hardware Large 9772 / 10628 for extra strength and rigidity.
