What degree of inconsistency / damage can I reasonably expect?

Mountboard & Sheet Materials: The edges and corners of sheets materials do get dented in handling and transit and this is to be expected. They can be trimmed off when you square the board up for cutting.

Finished Wood Moulding: All our moulding is made in artisanal factories in Italy and Spain. The occasional slight dimple or dent is to be expected and can usually be cut round.

Bare Wood Moulding: As a completely natural product, variations in colour and grain are part of the beauty. If you want a more consistent finish we recommend using a veneered moulding.

Hand Finished Moulding: As the name suggests, these mouldings are made by hand and so you should expect a degree of variation along the length and between batches. Watch our videos taken along the length to get a sense of what to expect.

Warping: As a natural product, wood mouldings can be prone to warping, especially narrower profiles. Slight warping can usually be corrected when the frame is joined.
